The way we seek to make disciples of youth and children at Faith Journey is quite different than the approach used by most churches. Instead of using traditional programs such as Sunday School and AWANA, we seek to equip parents to train their kids to follow the Lord. There are two main reasons for this:
- In Scripture, we see that the responsibility for training children in the ways of the Lord is placed squarely on the shoulders of the parents.
- The results of parents delegating that responsibility to the church have not been good. Tragically, most kids raised in church leave the faith after graduating High School.
All children are welcome to stay in the sanctuary during the worship service. However, if needed there is a nursery available Sunday mornings from 10:25 am until after the service for children newborn through Pre-K.
Kids have a great time playing with their friends while parents are in EPIC Training sessions. This happens twice a month after worship and lunch.
Most importantly, EPIC Training results in the discipleship of children as parents are encouraged and equipped to teach and train their kids. You can learn more about EPIC Training here.
There are Play Dates periodically at different locations. The most recent information on Play Dates is available here.
There are occasional special events for kids such as 2014’s Fall Harvest Party. Check out the harvest party pictures here!
